"Fright at the Museum"

Films: The Lamp (1987)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Genies are often considered to be the apex of wish fulfillment. Well, the truth is that you want nothing to do with them. Because most of them could be malevolent demons like this one.

History: An evil genie from Arabia has been lying dormant for a while in a lamp connected to a bracelet. Originally under the care of an elderly woman, a robbery gone awry resulted in the lamp getting transported to a natural science museum. Unfortunately, a teen's meddling results in the genie luring her and her friends to their doom as he brings the museum to life in horrific ways.

Notable Kills: Any death that involves snakes, such as the old "trouser snake" trick. Also, headbutting a guy while there's still an axe in your head.

Final Fate: The genie pursues the teen all the way to an incinerator, where the angered youth tosses the lamp into. It causes the genie to explode.

Powers/Abilities: Possession, complete control of reality.

Weakness: Destroy the lamp or just ignore it.

Scariness Factor: 3-In spite of a terrifying array of powers and a booming voice, the genie is hamstrung by a VERY wobbly prop being used for its final form.

Trivia: -This film was titled "The Outing" months later for a U.S. theatrical release.

-As of now, the voice for the genie has gone uncredited. This is a bad thing, obviously.
